Why aren't there asian solo artists in mainstream commercial music?

Who can name me one SUCCESSFUL solo asian artist in commercial music (pop/r&b/rock/dance)? There isn't !  I am not counting the bands that may have one asian in it, but ONE SOLO ARTIST to the magnitude of Beyonce, Rhianna, Katy Perry status... I am not counting classical and jazz genres either.

Is it racial?

From my experience being an asian artist in commercial music, the western world is just not ready for it yet. 

I was once told r&b/pop genre is racist and exclusive to blacks and whites and latinos...

Is that true?

2009: Who believes in such a thing as a new year resolution

I heard on radio (forget which station) a host said she didn't believe in such a thing as a new year resolution.....what do you make of that?
